RB-Børsen sells News Agency Direkt Denmark
Oslo/Copenhagen, 24 January 2011 – The two financial services of RB-Børsen and Direkt will be combined and re-launched in March 2011 as a new and even stronger financial news service.
“By combining the best of the two services, we will offer customers of both companies an even better financial news service in the future. Our ambition is to deliver Denmark´s best financial news service – and we are pleased to be able to deliver this through our many partners,” says Lars Vesterløkke, chairman of RB-Børsen A/S and Nyhedsbureuaet Direkt A/S.
RB-Børsen CEO Søren Funch is appointed Managing Director of News Agency Direkt with immediate effect.
Founded in Denmark in 2005, News Agency Direkt has since established itself as a fast and reliable news agency, and boasts several of Denmark´s largest banks and media outlets as clients.
Direkt is100 percent owned by Norwegian Infront, which is among the leading players in Scandinavia within financial market information.
“Infront´s main focus in the Danish market is to sell information systems to financial players. It is very important for us that we can also offer high-quality news to these customers, and therefore I have long believed that the only right thing would be to merge the two similar services together,” says Kristian Nesbak, CEO of Infront.
The new improved financial services will benefit from SME/Direkt Estimates – which are known to offer the highest quality in the Nordic region – as well as a number of technical financial features from Nyhedsbyrån Direkt in Sweden, which has been named by analysts as Sweden´s top financial news agency for 14 consecutive years. Production of the new service will be consolidated with existing RB-Børsen editorial staff in Ritzau.
